Street Child of Nigeria held a Family Business Scheme training for community-based livelihood case workers from our partner organisations to build their skills to support vulnerable caregivers of out-of-school children in starting and sustaining small businesses.
The training prepared case workers to guide caregivers on choosing suitable businesses, planning and managing them effectively, and keeping accurate financial records. Case workers also learned how to teach in a respectful, culturally appropriate way, using local languages to ensure deep understanding and active participation.
This initiative is part of our efforts to help families handle the associated costs of their child’s education. Implemented in partnership with @educationaboveall_eaa the Education Above All Foundation and support from Qatar Fund for Development, it supports the Education For Every Child Today (EFECT) project’s mission to break down barriers and ensure access to and retention in quality primary education for 96,000 children across Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Liberia.
