Okay, so something great happened.
Funemployment Quarterly Summer of year one is out and my story Braza is there! This is my first ever publication and I couldn´t be happier! Other amazing stories are featured in this edition, along the theme of sabbatical.
My story, Braza, is a comic fantasy tale about an elder dragon who desperately needs a rest but is rudely interrupted by heroes seeking to slay him.
I had so much fun writing it, and I want to thank everyone from @richiebilling discord channel who helped develop this piece. And thank @funemploymentpress for this awesome opportunity!
I hope you guys like it as much as I did.
Flash fiction is a very short story, usually around 250 to 500 words. I love these word limits bc writing them fells like putting a puzzle together! Have you ever read/written any?
Hit the link in the bio for the full #free story 😏 you won' ;t regret it (I hope)
Writers, how do come up with your stories? Where do you find inspiration??
Dea Sulis Minerva happened after I watched a documentary about Roman Baths, specifically the one in Bath - England, Aquae Sulis 💧💧
Sulis was a gaelic goddess who got attached to Minervar during Roman Empire, so folk would worship Dea Sulis Minerva as one goddess, not two.
But the most interesting thing about them are the Curse Tables, these little sheets of lead scribbled with prayers, aka curses, asking the goddess for revenge 😅
If you' ;re into history and Roman mythology, do check out my story Dea Sulis Minerva -- link in the stories highlights, available on FSF Writers Alliance website ❤️⚔️
Let me know if you like it, and if you got the references and "Easter eggs" I left all over that piece 😎
If you know, you know.
