What good is it for a man to gain the whole world and lose his salvation? Reflect on this, my dear friends. Read the Holy Scriptures. Examine John 3:16, which says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." The Bible also tells us that the wages of sin is death. This death that the Bible is talking about means spiritual death. Jesus Christ loves you. Your money won't be able to save you, your fame won't be able to save you, your offerings given to the poor and needy won't be able to save you. You do more than your duty to help the needy. What the Bible says is the second commandment of God's law: love your neighbor as yourself, but it doesn't guarantee eternal life.
