May 4 is International Firefighters’ Day.
I’ve been in the fire service since 1992.
Long enough to see what this job really is… and what it isn’t.
It’s not the pictures.
It’s not the stories.
It’s showing up when it’s your turn.
Doing the job right.
Then going back again next time.
I’ve been blessed to be part of it.
