Behind this fundraiser is Hannatu Sati Ribah, who has spent years as a Registered Nurse watching preventable diseases and poor access to health information affect families, especially in rural and underserved communities. That reality gave her a reason to go back to school, where she is now pursuing a Master's Degree in Public Health at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention.
The plan after graduation is to design and run effective community health programmes and bring accurate health information to rural areas where it rarely reaches. The people she spent years serving will be the same people she returns to serve, this time with more tools and a wider reach.
Getting there has not been easy. She has had to sort out fees using borrowed money she is still paying back. Tuition, research materials, and dissertation costs are still ahead of her.
