Our research students baked their research! 🍰
Last term our PhD and MRes students took part in a special networking event that showed off their baking skills as well as their research practice when our baker/researchers turned their PhD topics into edible masterpieces 🧁💯
Taking part were Rizpah Amadasun (PhD, School of Communication), Jinsun Lee (PhD, School of Design), Stuart Lee (PhD, School of Arts & Humanities) and Vera Melo (MRes RCA).
Participants explained how their creations encapsulated their research, and they were judged by our three judges: Prof Hala Mansour, Prof Teal Triggs and Simon Thompson. This was followed by a social in which guests were invited to eat their creations 😋
Rizpah Amadasun took the 1st prize for her 'Bird Cage and Rotating Cakes' that evoked her research on building inclusive spaces and the misogynoir microaggressions black British women experience.
