For someone who openly admitted he has barely stepped into his community in the last five years, the disconnect was always going to show. Politics, especially at the grassroots level, is deeply local. It is built on presence, relationships, and constant engagement with the people, not just visibility online. Social media hype and catchy slogans like “money na water” may create attention, but they do not replace genuine political structure or community connection. Perhaps he assumed that being one of the prominent faces of the City Boys movement would naturally translate into political relevance or electoral strength, but politics does not work that way. People want leaders they can see, reach, and identify with beyond the internet.
