The God we know and love is sometimes described as the Alpha and the Omega. This phrase caught on as it was the first and last letters within the Greek alphabet in the early translations of the Bible, signifying the start and the end of all things. It is one of the aptest monikers for our Lord God, for even though the Bible has been rendered into many different tongues, they all depend on the letter and the word. It is in His word that we know Him, irrespective of the tongue; He is the beginning and the end of the word, and the word is everlasting.

Heavenly Father, grant me Your words and open my heart so I may contemplate on thy everlasting truth. Let me continue to study, learn and live by Your teachings each and everyday, for I seek to please and know You Lord, just as my spirit wishes to enter Your merciful embrace. Amen.
