The trending videos and reports have definitely raised fresh questions in the political space around Surulere and Lagos APC dynamics. According to multiple reports, Femi Gbajabiamila openly stated that he “almost lost” his position because intelligence linked Desmond Elliott to the impeachment saga involving Mudashiru Obasa.
What is fueling public suspicion now is the contradiction many people are pointing to:
Gbajabiamila claimed he defended Desmond before the President and even warned him to stay away from the crisis.
Yet, videos and screenshots circulating online allegedly show that his sister, Kemi Gbajabiamila, and the aspirant believed to have his backing, Barakat Bakare Odunuga were among the earliest people congratulating the new Speaker after Obasa’s removal.
To many observers, that creates the impression that there may have been prior knowledge or at least political sympathy toward the anti-Obasa camp.
