Irene had malaria on her wedding day and even started reacting with a skin allergy. I remember holding her hand and saying a simple prayer — you’re healed in Jesus’ name.
We took our time, staying patient and present, capturing what we could without forcing any moment. The first slide was taken at the peak of her illness, right before we had to wrap the portrait session because she couldn’t go on.
Still, @renestyles remained calm and graceful through it all. She’ll always be one of my favorites.
Sometimes the perfect photos don’t come in perfect situations, but staying true to the art and preserving the essence of the day without taking away from it is what truly matters.
